On the 16th of September our school had a science fair. All of the classes made their own displays, which we hung up or placed somewhere in the assembly hall. Everyone had different topics for their displays, that were based on something to do with science. Some of the topics that the students did were... Static Electricity, Germ Testing, The Periodic Table and many more.

Every Friday from 9:30 - 10:30, I have a French class with my teacher from last year... Mr Webb. Last week we learnt about what countries speak French, where France is on the world map and what common French words we say in New Zealand. I couldn't wait until my next French lesson this week, that I started to learn a couple of things in French. Like... Hello my name is Kaiah nice to meet you, and translated in French it is... Salut je m'appelle Kaiah Enchante. It was really fun looking at how to speak a different language that isn't English, and I can't wait until my next French lesson with Mr Webb.

Early last year, I first visited the orthodontist to see about getting braces put on my teeth. Before getting the braces on I had to experience getting two teeth pulled out of my mouth. Once the gaps from the extracted teeth were healed it was time to get the braces put on. In May, Finally the braces got put on. At first they felt really weird, but after the first couple of months I got used to it. After almost 5 months, I got small hooks placed in the wire of the braces and had to wear small rubber bands until February the next year. Then just yesterday the most coolest and surprising thing happened. My braces came off, and I got to see the new me! Sadly after, even though they were off, I had to get removable retainers... But on the bright side they're clear so you don't know they're in there.

On Saturday all of the Auroa School Robotics teams travelled to Whanganui for the official Junior Robocup Competition. When you compete you can choose if you want to do a theatre performance or a search and rescue performance. All of the Auroa teams did the theatre category and only had to compete against each other. In the end the Robros (Shreck performance) came in 3rd place, the Udder Budders (Carnival performance) came in 2nd place and JKLM (Mission impossible performance) came in 1st place! The Udder Budders and JKLM both get to carry on to Nationals all the way down in Christchurch on the 12th of September and hopefully win Auroa a new trophy or two.
Last Monday me and my family anxiously travelled to Whanganui. We were very worried about if were would make it there because recently before a big flood came and wiped out most of Whanganui. On the way there we saw many land slides and paddocks full of muddy water. Also the roads were limited to one lane only because part of the road got pulled apart. Once we had arrived at Whanganui we were very pleased and relieved that we were still in one piece. Across the bridge on the other side of Whanganui, Kowhai park was full of dirty water and sewage, so was parts in town and the underground car park of the warehouse.
